Edge Filters are precision optical filters designed to separate wavelength regions by creating a sharp transition between the transmission band and rejection band. Using multilayer dielectric coatings, edge filters provide high transmission in the passband and effective blocking in the rejection band. Chenyu Optics manufactures edge filters in BK7 and fused silica, available as shortpass or longpass edge coatings with custom edge wavelength.

Edge Filter Overview

Edge Filters are precision optical filters designed to separate wavelength regions by creating a sharp transition between the transmission band and rejection band.

Using multilayer dielectric coatings, edge filters provide high transmission in the passband and effective blocking in the rejection band. They are widely used in fluorescence imaging, spectroscopy, machine vision, optical sensors and laser systems.
