Germanium Lens Overview

Germanium Lenses are precision infrared optical components manufactured from high-purity germanium (Ge) single crystal material.

With excellent infrared transmission from approximately 2–14 μm, high refractive index and low chromatic aberration, germanium lenses provide reliable optical performance for demanding infrared imaging systems. Due to their excellent MWIR and LWIR optical characteristics, germanium lenses are widely used in thermal imaging systems, infrared cameras, night vision systems, IR sensors and infrared laser applications.
