Ellipsoidal Mirrors are precision reflective optical components with an ellipsoidal surface profile designed to reimage light from one focal point onto a second, conjugate focal point, without introducing spherical aberration for that specific conjugate pair.

Because an ellipse has two geometric foci, all light rays leaving one focus and reflecting off the ellipsoidal surface converge exactly at the second focus.
