A plano convex cylindrical lens (PCCL) is a one-axis optical cylindrical lens with two distinct surfaces: one flat (plano) and one curved in a cylindrical shape (convex).

Its curvature is limited to a single plane , while the perpendicular axis remains flat.

  • Custom substrate materials like N-BK7, Fused Silica
  • Ideal for circularization of laser diode output, laser line generation, and image aspect ratio modulation
  • Applications: Laser scanners, diode lasers, optical metrologies, and spectroscopes

Advantages of the lens

  • It can converge parallel light rays into a thin line, or converge divergent light rays from a point source into a parallel beam.

This makes it highly suitable for applications requiring a linear light distribution.

  • It can be directly installed on the optical support and reduces assembly errors.
  • By using different coatings, it can adapt to various environments.

Applications:

Moreover, here are the main using situations:

  • Laser Cutting/Welding,Laser Marking/Engraving,Laser Heat Treatment
  • Line Scan Camera,Barcode/QR Code Scanners,Microscopy
  • Ophthalmic Instruments,Laser Therapy Devices,Biomedical Imaging
  • Consumer Electronics & Automotive
