What is the defination of a Dove Prism?
Dove Prism (Dove Optical Priss) is an optical component with unique imaging characteristics.
It is usually in the shape of a rectangular prism, and its interior is a modified structure of a right-angle prism.
After undergoing total reflection, the light can achieve the effect of image flipping or rotation.

Working Principle of the Dove Prism
If light enters through an inclined surface and propagates along the longitudinal axis of the prism, it will reflect once from the bottom surface and then appear from the other short side.
Therefore, it will make an inverted image.
When the image passing through the prism is reversed, it does not undergo lateral transposition or deviation because there is only one reflection involved.
