The optical prism is a transparent optical element with polished flat surfaces that refract or reflect light. Made from high-quality optical materials such as BK7 glass, fused silica, sapphire, or calcium fluoride, prisms are designed to control the path of light beams. They can change the direction of propagation, invert or rotate images, or disperse light into its spectral components.
Prisms are available in different types such as right-angle prisms, equilateral prisms, Abbe prisms, beam-splitting prisms, and roof prisms. People often choose them in laser systems, imaging devices, spectrometers, telescopes, binoculars, and other precision optical instruments.

Custom Ultrafast Beamsplitters offer optimized dispersion control, high damage threshold, and tailored designs for precise ultrafast laser applications.

Dispersive prisms are used to break up light into its constituent spectral colors.
